Designing Spaces That Invite Play, Connection & Curiosity

Curious Sunshine believes play isn’t just something we practice internally.

It’s something we can build into the world around us.

Through creative placemaking, Curious Sunshine helps transform everyday spaces into environments that spark curiosity, encourage connection, and invite people to engage a little more playfully with themselves, each other, and their surroundings.

This work lives at the intersection of art, wellness, community, and imagination.

Placemaking Project:
the play path

First of its kind in debuting in Denver, CO, the path aims to promote a playful mindset and healthy movement for individuals of all ages and backgrounds.

My very own invention! It aligns with the core philosophy of Curious Sunshine and Sarah’s Kaleidoscope Playhouse, in making the world a more playful place.

Enjoy a whimsical workout through color-coded cues that help you meet your fitness goals in a playful way. Run, skip, dance and stretch your way through the Play Path with neighbors, friends or solo!

The pilot project for the Play Path is located at Elmendorf Park and John H. Amesse Elementary School (JHAE) in Denver’s Montbello Community. The project, funded by Denver Park Trust and BeWell, features a painted rainbow trail with cues in both Spanish and English encouraging users to engage in playful exercises. Path was installed October 2024.
